A little knowledge. A bigger adventure.

Complete the name

Everyday fruits has nine questions using English common names, grouped into three-question expeditions. It never moves you automatically into scientific-name puzzles. The separate, optional Botany challenge has 234 questions generated from source-listed families and genera. Begin with a fruit name, then meet one condition, then two conditions together. Each challenge chooses one matching name and reveals some letters. Read the partly revealed name in the hint, then type or paste the complete name into the answer box. Press Enter or Check answer to submit. Color conditions refer to ripe flesh, and a documented cultivar counts.

Verified, uncertain and not a match

The starter guide covers a small, sourced selection of fruit names and aliases. The selected name meets the required conditions; completing that name clears the challenge. A known mismatch explains why, without taking points. Missing names or attributes are saved as exploration ideas, not marked wrong and not rewarded. For classification challenges, eligible source records are grouped by family and genus, with at least three distinct scientific names per question. Only the optional Botany challenge can ask for full scientific names. Everyday fruits always uses curated common names; scientific names appear in the knowledge note after a correct answer. Switch tracks through the expert-challenge section; progress and purchased help are preserved separately, while XP and points are shared. The source inventory is broader than everyday fruits; classifications are source-relative, not a claim of current taxonomic consensus or food safety.

Earn your progress

Start with 30 points. The warm-up earns 10 XP and 5 points; a single-condition challenge earns 20 XP and 10 points; two conditions earn 30 XP and 15 points. Generated family challenges earn 20 XP and 10 points; genus challenges earn 30 XP and 15 points. Each challenge pays once. The first time you clear a challenge with a new fruit, earn an extra 10 XP and 5 points. Aliases share that bonus. Using a collected fruit for a different challenge still earns that challenge reward.

Complete all three challenges in an expedition for a one-time bonus of 30 XP and 15 points. Skipped challenges do not count until cleared. Every 100 lifetime XP raises your level. Player titles are shared across game themes and advance in ten-level bands: Curious Mind at levels 1–10, Explorer at 11–20, Pathfinder at 21–30, then Trailblazer and further milestones. There are 30 titles in total: Grandmaster begins at level 91, and Living Legacy at level 291. Open “All 30 titles” in your progress panel to see every tier, your current title and future unlocks. Your progress panel shows the levels remaining to your next title. Rewards reflect learning progress, not a real survey of how many people know a fruit.

A little help

Spend 15 points to auto-fill the complete name. This does not submit the answer: press Check answer when ready. The purchase is charged once per visit to that challenge; filling again is free, including after a reload. You keep the full challenge and first-find rewards. Wrong attempts never cost XP or points. The field guide and skipping are free. Revisiting a skipped challenge resets its help purchase.

Free exploration

Switch modes at any time without losing challenge progress. Free exploration collects names in your field journal and identifies known entries. It grants no XP or points. Unrecognized names remain unverified ideas. The classic archive is also available, with its original open-answer rules.

Saved in this browser

Your challenge progress, journal, XP and points are stored locally. Earlier expedition XP and balances are retained when you first enter the new trail. Browser storage can be edited and is not a competitive ranking system. Points have no cash value. Clearing browser data removes progress.
